We pay terrible socioeconomic penalties, including massive financial distress and poverty, for the taxing of our incomes and purchases – instead of being required to pay the rent of that piece (those pieces?) of land over which we have title to occupy.

On the other hand, I suppose this system continues to make some people billionaires, and to make them happy, wealthy and proud.

So, it seems all clouds have a silver lining?
