THE HIDDEN TAXABLE CAPACITY OF LAND

By taxing away the dark blue unearned land rent (16% of GDP) in the chart below, we’d eliminate all the other taxes and their attendant deadweight costs that are passed off into prices (the 34% red and green), achieve general prosperity for labour and capital, and deliver a living wage universal income!
No? Why not? We prefer to stay with the current rent-seeking madness?
