“We should change our taxes to things that aren’t so destructive. Company tax is a very difficult one because when you try to reinvest in your company you’ve got to pay very high tax. I would transfer taxes. We should tax land for example, particularly property above a certain level. I own millions of dollars worth of property and it’s quite reasonable for that to be taxed; the unimproved land value, that is. You can’t avoid the land tax because if you own the land you can’t disappear the land. We should introduce a federal land tax and obviously we should also look at raising GST.”
