UNLOCKING THE RICHES OF OZ: A CASE STUDY OF THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC COSTS OF REAL ESTATE BUBBLES 1972 TO 2006

 

In May 2007, before the US subprime mortgage bubble burst, I published a summary of Australia’s recent real estate bubbles in this study.  

The study was based on Australian data, but I consider it stands as a proxy for much the same process that has occurred in other countries around the world – and that people elsewhere, understanding its rationale, might seek to improve upon it.
