  1. The case for a land value tax is very compelling on economic, social equity, efficiency, productivity and many other grounds.

    Thus, the fact that it has not already been implemented, lets everyone know whose interests the politicians are really representing: the landed gentry, and the little aussie ‘battlers’ who want a slice of the hot geo-rent action.

    I’ll hazard a guess that the ‘suppository of knowledge’ currently leading the rudderless federal LNP bandwagon isn’t going to upset his power base either with any radical taxation reforms that hits blue blood asset wealth.

    Although, on the other hand, he needn’t seek their permission, but perhaps their understanding…
