ACOSS:  Cut negative gearing to help the poor

And, of course, to chase those out of the residential market who only use the tax system to acquire property on top of property, and make it dearer for young people.

The oft-repeated canard that the rental market fell apart when Paul Keating tried to scrap negative gearing was effectively refuted by Dr Gavin Putland in this article.

    A slow reduction on maximum loan terrms would also be beneficial.
